Keeping youngsters active over Easter
IT might seem still some distance on the horizon, but Co. Louth VEC is already planning for Easter.
The VEC will be running Easter Activity Schools in both cookery and creative writing during the school holidays from April 10th to 13th. The cookery school will be held in O'fiaich College, Dundalk and is aimed at 8-13 year olds.
Under the tuition of experienced staff, the school will be an opportunity for participants to produce both savoury and sweet dishes, which can be taken home and enjoyed by all the family!
The creative writing school will be held in St. Oliver's Community College, Drogheda and be ideal for younger people (8-13 years) wishing to explore their own writing interests.
It aims to be fun and informative and be of particular benefit to any participant hoping to have some kind of future career in writing.
Themes explored may include; writing games and exercises; poems and story writing; working with prompts; drama writing; short plays and getting better at grammar and punctuation.
Schools are priced at €40 and €50 respectively.
Application forms are available at www.louthvec.ie or by calling Co. Louth VEC on 0429334047.
