Mercury Players take to Town Hall stage

THE MERCURY Players return to An Tain theatre with their production of 'Proof ' on Tuesday February 28th for one night only.
This production was a huge success back in November and they are giving Dundalk audiences a chance to see it again before they hit the festival circuit in the coming weeks.
'Proof ' is a story about a daughter's struggle to cope with the loss of her father and the fear that she may have inherited his madness.
David Auburn's best known play 'Proof ' won the Tony Award for Best Play in 2001 as well as the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Then in 2005 it was adapted into a motion picture starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Anthony Hopkins.
This play will be the third play for Mercury Players Dundalk and the sixth for Director Ultan Hodgers. Their last collaboration was two years ago when they presented 'Steel Magnolias' to great success and prior to that they staged 'Great Expectations'.
But 'Proof ' is the first play which will see the group venture onto the festival circuit when they will be compete in Castleblayney Drama Festival and Lislea Drama Festival.
The lead role of Catherine will be played by Lynsey O'neill, with Jack Montgomery playing her father Robert. Completing the line up are Dara Woods as Claire and Trevor Lee as Hal.
