AS part of Science Week in Dundalk Grammar School, renowned scientist Randal Henly arrived on campus to inspire the next generation of young scientists.

Over the course of a morning, Mr. Henly thoroughly engaged students from both Junior and Senior years.

This science event, held in the school's gym, was a highly interactive affair, involving a great deal of student participation. Volunteers from amongst the student body were on hand and willing to help Mr. Henly in his demonstration of key scientific principles. Bazookas, vacuum packing students, exploding canisters and many other attention grabbing experiments all served to keep everyone entertained!

'I was fascinated by the entire show,' says James Ellis from First Year. ' The show was a raging success and I know that students will have learnt lots of new science knowledge.'

Later in the day, DGS students accompanied their science teachers to Dundalk Institute of Technology to watch 'Amoeba to Zebra'.

Designed to inspire students to take an interest in Biology and the environment, this show set out to educate and entertain in equal measures. The evolution of life was explained to students through musical fourteen musical chapters, all performed by Yorkshire based pop group, BEING 747.
