Francy turns 50 in real style

Wednesday November 16 2011

from Marian Park

ON Friday night we made our way to the YDC in Oriel Park where a special 50th birthday party was being thrown for Francy Clarke from Willow Grove and there to make sure he had a really great night was his girlfriend Lorraine Caldwell from Dublin Road and children Kelly and Hannah.

Also present were Francy's dad Dickie Clarke, the Dundalk FC legend from St. Nicholas Avenue, his sisters Selina Clarke from St. Nicholas Avenue and her kids Christian and Jamie, Bernie Kindlon with Leah and Danny, brothers Gerry Clarke from Cooley who was with his wife Mary and David Clarke who had travelled over from Crawly in Essex specially to be at his brother's big bash and Lorraine's mum Margot Caldwell from Hill Street.

Family friend Noel and Geraldine Minto from Bay Estate as well as Colin Brennan from St. Nicholas Avenue assured me it was going to be a very quiet night, sure lads, it had all the hallmarks!

Cora Molloy from Knockbridge was there with Joe Jnr and Joe Snr from Knockbridge and Doylesfort Road respectively and were with Johnny Duffy from Oaklawns who told me apart from Cora, they are all golfing buddies of Francy's.

Three lovely ladies who were in great form included Barbara Mackin from Jocelyn Street, Catherine Mulholland from Pearse Park and Pauline Mcgovern also from Pearse Park.

Davie Fagan from Forkhill and Roger Hodgins from Hackballscross are two of Francy's best mates who assured me it was going to be a quiet one, eh no lads, didn't believe a word of it.

Marie and Eamonn Mckenna from Mullaharlin Road were enjoying the company of Tony and Josephine Sharkey from The Wee House which was then described as Francy's second home.

Michael, Mary and Deirdre Morgan from Willow Grove were enjoying the craic with sisters Donna and Lisa Conroy from Reaghstown and they were up for having a night of it with Larry, Jackie and Conor Conroy also from Reaghstown. They were also joined by Dan, Maureen and Lauren Smyth from

Willow Grove, Anthony

Lynch from Castletown and Jacqueline Lynch from Willow Grove who told me they were looking forward to the night.
