Knockbridge

Wednesday February 01 2012

Knockbridge Hurling Club held a very well attended and successful fund raising table quiz last Friday night in Cluskey's, Little Ash. Quiz organiser Gerry Dunne thanked everyone who attended, Vincent and Sharon Byrne, proprietors for their generous sponsorship and hospitality and all who helped in any way make the quiz so successful and enjoyable.

He had special thanks for question master and quiz setter Frank Carney and his wife Theresa who have been doing this quiz since 1985 which must be a record. Thanks also to checkers Dolores and Kathleen Mcnally and Donal Murphy, floor workers Noel and Brendan Mcnally and John Byrne, to Shane Darcy for his help and to Derek Kettle for the sound system.

Thanks must also go to all the committee members and players who supplied spot prizes along with Pat Nugent, Frank Woods, John Martin and Eugene Caulfield.

The winners were Finbarr Gethins team and in joint 2nd place were Tony Teefy's team and David Dunne's team. All the winners very generously gave back their winnings to the club which was much appreciated.

Again thanks to everyone who supported the quiz in any way. BINGO THIS THURSDAY
