Lilywhite's packed to the rafters as Conor turns 21

Wednesday February 01 2012

ON FRIDAY night we dropped by the Lilywhite Lounge, where a great 21st birthday party was taking place for Conor Shevlin from Ashdale Park in Bay Estate.

Helping to make sure he had a mmemorable night were his mum Anne and brother Gary, granda Paddy Barryand aunty Mary Barry, both from Knockbridge, and a huge collection of family and friends.

I wasn't too long in the door when I met up with Gwen and Michael Cotter from Hackballscross, who told me they are old neighbours from Bay Estate and wanted to wish Conor all the best on his big night.

They were sitting beside Rita White from Bay Estate and Brigid Murphy from Lennonstown Manor, who are family friends. Heading for another table, I met up with Marianne and Claire Boothman from Toberona who were with Emmet Shevlin from Toberona and they assured me it was going to be a great night.

Also in their company were Maureen Shevlin from Long Avenue, Christine Boothman from Bay Estate (better known as Conor's second mum) and Tony Rice from Belfast, who were thoroughly enjoying the whole proceedings.

Meanwhile, I met up with Anne's workmate Briege and Michael O'farrell from Rathmount and, making my way to another table, I got a word with Aidan Sheehy from Bay Estate and Stephanie Corry from Oldbridge and they were up for making the best of the night, but there was no drink for Aidan because he was playing football with Dundalk the following morning! They were with Laura Schiavone from Marian Park, Conor's brother Gary along with cousin Nathan Cooney from Riverside Drive (whom I'd met the previous week at Emma Gray's monster bash) and Andrew Rafferty from Muirhevna who were having a massive laugh at the party.

Over at another table, I got talking to Sean Bailey from Belfry Avenue, Kevin Brennan from Manydown Close and Michael Kyle Jnr. from Manydown Close, who were with Lincoln Burrows from Greenacres and Curtis Jackson from Avenue Road who were up for a major night of fun.

Also in their company were Jake Stevens from Bay Estate, Finbar O'connell from Bay Estate and Mustapha James from Blackrock who were 'avin a lauff '.

After this, I had the pleasure of talking to Nadine Berrill from Dromiskin and Kellyanne Greene from Point Road, then I got talking to Kenneth Mcmahon from Lower Point Road, another Michael Kyle from Manydown Close, Niamh Dunne from Knockbridge, Andrew Coburn from Oaklawns, Tiernan Kilcoyne from Manydown Close, Paula Mcnally from Newry Road, Orla Dunne from Knockbridge, Michael Dawson from Ashbrook, who were all getting into the swing of the festivities when I caught up with them.

Also at the same tables were Angelo Mcmanus from Oaklawns, Fergal Stanley from Bay Estate, Sean Berry from Drive 1 and John-paul Flemming from Greenacres who were up for making the best of the craic on the night.

Finally, before we departed, I then got talking to birthday boy Conor who was having a brilliant time and wanted to thank everyone for coming to the party and hoped they had a good night.

Well. they certainly were when we were there Conor!
