Two SVP workers suspended
Wednesday December 23 2009
TWO workers from the St. Vincent de Paul (SVP) in Dundalk have been suspended amid allegations of sexual harrassment and bullying.
One staff member and one volunteer were informed of their suspension on Friday, and an internal investigation has been launched.
In a statement from the organisation, it confirmed that allegations had been made about two people associated with the SVP thrift shop in Jocelyn Street.
'These allegations are being investigated under the society's strict code of practice, and the relevant authorities have been notified,' said the statement.
'In order not to compromise the investigation, no further comment will be made until the investigation has been concluded,' the statement ended.
At this stage the matter is being dealt with at a local level, and the relevant authorities have been informed.
