Alarm at fire service plans
Stations could be unmanned during night

Dundalk Fire Station may not be manned during the night under Louth County Council proposals to rationalise the Fire Service in the County.
Wednesday March 10 2010
THE Argus has learned that the fire stations in Dundalk and Drogheda could be unmanned from 11pm to 8am as part of a review to streamline the services. It would mean all overnight emergency calls would be responded to by retained fire-fighters in the towns. It is one of a number of recommendations before the council and the unions following a review of the services in Louth.
