Healy blows hot when it matters at Dundalk
WEST of Ireland runner up, Stephen Healy went one better in Dundalk's Senior Scratch Cup on Sunday, with a terrific 36-hole tally of 148, +4 on a day when strong winds made standing upright difficult, never mind playing golf.

LOCAL golfer Deirdre Smith (pictured) claimed the first Scratch Cup of the 2012 season by a margin of one stroke at the Zara Bolton Scratch Cup at Royal Portrush recently.

25-YEAR-OLD Dundalk golfer Aaron Grant equalled the course record in Dundalk Golf Club at the weekend in the Paddy Markey Cup with a stunning round of 66, six under par.

THE winning score of last week's Mid-week Open was 41pts, a good score, but when you hear that it was brought in by a one handicapper that makes it slightly more impressive. Mark Lambe Jnr took the honours with Darragh Gunn second with 39pts and Jimmy Lacey third, also with 39pts.
