Bingham in frame for Hill Climb title
THE final round of the FPM Accountants Summer Cycling League, the Hill Climb Championship, started on Thursday last. This part of the league is held over two rounds.
Glenmore welcome guest club
ON Saturday last a group of about 65 athletes from Glenmore AC and Vale Royal AC Cheshire, took part in a morning of adventure sports at Carlingford Adventure Centre in Tholsel Street where they also stayed for the weekend.
U-15 gold for Rogers
LAST Sunday Mark Rogers and Niamh Fussey from St Peter's AC were in action in the Leinster Combined Events' Championships in Navan. Both were contesting the underage Pentathlon events, which involve competing in the 80m Hurdles, Long Jump, Shot Putt, High Jump and 800m in a single day.
Ravensdale Lodge league results
WEEK three of the Ravensdale Lodge registered horse league took place last Wednesday and the results were as follows: 90cm Class: Mary Curtis' The Hackler (M. Curtis). 1m Class: J. Kelly's Laurnas Girl (M. T. Collins). 1.10m Class: Linda Buchanan's Loughshore Light of Touch (L. Buchanan). 1.20m Class: Linda Buchanan's Touch of Chilli (L. Buchanan).
TALKING dogs and horses
ENTRIES were revealed at the weekend for Dundalk's flagship race, and some interesting names are among the 32 possibles. The Group 3 Diamond Stakes is one in a series of 'win and you're in' races. The 'in' refers to the Breeders' Cup Marathon to be run at Churchill Downs on 5 November.
Local pair travel to ice hockey camp
FOUR Irish boys travelled to take part in the Best of British Ice Hockey camp in Irvine, Scotland at the begining of August. Sean Coleman (Dundalk), Henry McCarthy (Enniskillen), Jamie Scott (Belfast) and David Sally (Dundalk), all arrivedat the Magnum Center, Irvine for the six-day camp which began on 1st August.

Kelly back in the ring to fight for title
MICKEY Kelly returns to the ring next month to contest the vacant Irish Ligh-welterweight title against Frankie Gavin The former military world champion will take on the 24-year-old Birminghamborn fighter on Frank Warren's Magnificent Seven bill at the LG Arena in Birmingham on September 18.
