GLENMUIR advanced to the last 32 at the expense of local rivals Seatown. The game was played in a good spirit and served up entertaining football on a difficult surface.

Glenmuir went at Seatown from the start and both Shane Caraher and Ross Kehoe were causing the Dundalk outfit a lot of problems with their pace and runs at the defence.

From one of his raids Caraher was fouled in the box and Aidan Sheekey scored from the resultant penalty kick.

Glens could have gone further ahead when Caraher shot wide from a difficult angle. Almost immediately Kehoe was one-on-one with the keeper but chipped his shot wide of the post.

The leaders were well organised, in particular their back four, who never put a foot wrong.

In the second half Seatown came more into the game as Glenmuir dropped deep in their own half. They were dangerous from set pieces and this looked their best way of getting past the Glenmuir defence. From one of these free-kicks Darren Breen got down low to push the ball around the post.

Andrew Breen made a lastditch tackle to stop Jude Carroll getting a shot in, and the latter had a chance to equalise but pulled his effort wide.

Glenmuir won a corner taken by Caraher which wasn't dealt with and James Collins stroked the ball home to deservedly put them through to this stage for the fifth year in-a-row.
